- Voudrais-tu me donner trois mots qui pourraient te décrire?
- Voudrais-tu, enfin, nous expliquer trois oeuvres d’art qui sont importantes pour toi?

Bernard has been so kind to answer, in writing… in English: we thus share his answers with you!
Your function in the Board is treasurer: would you explain what your role consists in?
Treasurer’s role consists in collecting contributions (with follow-up if delays), registering the expenses and taking care of the accounting balance.
What does Ars et Fides represent for you (what is your interest in Ars et Fides?)?
Ars et Fides is a hub for exchange between groups (physically with annual meeting and immaterially with blog) and an international network of friendship. Furthermore Ars et Fides spirit makes explicit and wide known what I experiment since 27 years as a welcoming guide at Boscodon abbey.
You’re part of the Board: what is your interest for this function?
My role is quite functional, but for the sake of a good work in an association it is important that concrete matters be in order: it facilitates the resolution of all outstanding subjects. My modest accounting activity is not detrimental to an active participation in the bureau discussions.
Besides your Ars et Fides membership, who are you? “Job”, family, hobbies, interests?
I am father of 3 children and grandfather of 6 grandchildren. Being presently pensioned, my commitments are Church orientated (parochial committee, biblical reading, charity). Together with Monique, we are lay Dominicans. I am passionately fond of ancient and oriental languages (Latin, Greek, Hebrew, Syriac and soon Arabic) in order to have direct access to original wording of the Bible and of the Christian literature. Being graduated engineer, I am still strongly interested by mathematics and physics. At last, together with Monique, we take part in a secular choir, very often singing religious masterpieces. At home we generally like to “bathe” in a musical atmosphere. Being inhabitant of Paris conurbation, I am inundated with many exhibition proposals: I tried to honour some of them.
Is Ars et Fides important for your faith? Is your faith important for Ars et Fides? Please explain!
Yes, my Ars et Fides activity (locally at Boscodon, thanks to exchange with groups and as member the bureau) helps a lot to understand that Europe has a common artistic language for expressing the Christian faith. As a consequence, when travelling in Europe, local churches are eloquent and nourishing my faith. For me, Ars et Fides without faith would be meaningless.
What are your dreams for Ars et Fides?
To succeed to introduce new groups within Ars et Fides: Amiens, Noyon, Laon and Soissons cathedrals, abbazia della Novalesa, sacra di San Michele. To get thousands of followers in our blog!
Would you give me 3 words that describe you.
Diplomacy, passion, order.
Would you explain 3 masterpieces that move you (painting, architecture, music, sculpture, etc.)?
The Venus of Botticelli, the Laon Cathedral, the Requiem of Gabriel Faure and… the Penseur of Rodin.
